This video clip from 1964 shows great British Touring Car Championship racing at the now extinct Crystal Palace circuit. An array of cars is shown on the track but I especially enjoy the Lotus-Cortinas, Minis and the big Ford Galaxies. Jim Clark threw his Lotus into perfectly controlled four wheel drifts around the corners, he went on to win the race and ultimately the ’64 BSCC championship. But my favorite part is watching a Galaxie lead a pack of Cortinas, if you concentrate hard enough you can hear the Yakkity Sax. Press play for good times.

Now that Fiat saved Chrysler from certain death, Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne is in control and he has big plans for the manufacturer. One is to drag the Viper out of the doghouse and make the snaky supercar into a proper halo car for the Dodge brand. Good for you, sir. It’s not official, but the next generation Viper could be powered by a Ferrari inspired V10. The engine would be a two-cylinder extension of the Fiat family V8. With 90-degree cylinder banks and pushrod-actuated valves, the Viper version would be a bit of a cross-breed, skipping the high-tech flat-plane crank found in the Ferrari version.
