FROM CNN MONEY: Ford Motor Co. said its European vehicle sales in October climbed 13% although the auto maker intensified its concern over the coming 2010 market slump.
“This is the strongest October we’ve had in Europe for 12 years,” Ford Europe’s sales chief Ingvar Sviggum said during a conference call Wednesday, adding that Ford is now the second-best-selling brand in the European auto industry.
The Dearborn, Mich.-based auto maker’s vehicle sales in its 19 European core markets came in at 121,000 last month.
Ford’s European market share stood at 8.8% in October, up 0.5 percentage points compared with last year. Year-to-date it reached 9.1%, which represents an increase by 0.5 percentage points as well. MORE>
