This topless French cruiser has only has 38,000 miles and is currently a victim of a stalled restoration. Save this ‘66 Peugeot 404 Cabriolet, it’s for sale here on eBay. The seller is mum on details but he did state the car is complete with the exception of a few chrome pieces. Also, I’m guessing that the car is not running as the fuel pump is out of commission.
Designed by Pininfarina, the 404 radiates classic 60’s style.
I dig the how the sporty yellow driving lights are set into the grill. Hopefully the seller has the passenger side indicator since it could be an absolute nightmare to locate one.
Yep, looks good back here too.
As you can see, the interior needs some work. The carpet and rear seat look new and a bit dusy. The column mounted shifter ought to be entertaining.
It looks as if the car was mostly disassembled before the repaint, no overspray on the engine, interior components or brightwork. The spark plugs will need to be installed.
If the price remains low, this could be an excellent opportunity to buy a restored classic French cabriolet at a discounted price. Most of the expensive and time consuming restoration procedures appear to be, or is, complete such as the disassembly, body and paint work and partial reassembly. What do you think?
For sale here on eBay

The back end reminds me of a Karmen Giha. I like it even if that engine is gutless.
Hello. Any ideas on the seller’s eBay ID or any other info that would help me track down this car?
Thanks!
RN
I don’t have the seller’s info. I’ll keep an eye out for it.
They are not gutless: with the fuel injected engine this one has, the car would do 105+ MPH on the MIRA banked circuit in England, not bad for a 1960s 1600 cc car. I know someone who was considering this car and apparently the floors are messed up. Parts can be found if you know where to look. I have the Coupé (hardtop) version of this car in my garage, also with Kugelfischer fuel injection. Over 1400 of these are known to still exist.
