The Coronado Speed Fest was incredibly fun this past weekend. Hundreds of vintage race cars gathered on the naval base in Coronado for the 12th annual “race on the base”, part of fleet week in San Diego. The navy base was saturated with a wide variety of classic race cars and fans are encouraged to walk through the pit area and watch as the racecars go through their final inspections before hitting the track, a great perk of the Coronado Speed Fest. If you have an opportunity to attend the Speed Fest next year, I highly recommend it. Here is just a tiny sample of the many, many photographs I took this past weekend.

This is the main gate outside the Speed Festival, the military had a nice array of jets, helicopters, boats and hovercrafts on display.

My camera was fond of this Jaguar D-type, it’s beautiful to watch it in its natural habitat

Who doesn’t love vintage Trans-American racing? The sound, feel and smell of these beast was epic.

I caught this little Maverick doing a three wheel turn and burn on the Navy base.

My favorite celebrity Adam Corolla brought his 1972 Bob Sharp Datsun 610. Listen to his online show Car Cast here. Get it on!
