I, and most sane people, love the original Mini with the iconic round face. I also like the ‘70’s square-nosed Mini, it’s refreshing as you rarely see one in the U.S of A. This Georgia dweller square-nose being sold on eBay is not a standard Roy Haynes refresh, it’s an original factory performance 1275 GT. The seller states that he bought and imported the car from the UK in 2004 and it’s been stashed away in his Mini collection since.
Check out the simple lower stripe, it’s very Mustang G.T. 350 like. The 12″ alloys were factory installed and look great. The original black paint is showing it’s 32 year old age, but it’s in overall nice condition.
Huge rally lights mounted on the front bumper and need to be wired. The sporty red GT emblem is one of the many distinctive 1275 marking.
The front OEM seats were upgraded to Corbeau sport seats, to my amazement they look pretty good and fit nicely. The three pod gauge cluster was unique to the 1275 GT, it’s housing a tachometer and a 120mph speedometer.
The Cooper 1275cc engine and 4 speed manual transmission. The car runs as is, but will need some sorting because it’s been sitting and driven little since 2002.
It’s an original factory performance Mini that’s rare. What’s not to like? This car deserves respect.
