The news about GM struggling to survive this past year is getting outright depressing. Yesterday, all the news outlets started discussing the money-back guarantee commercial featuring Ed Whitacre. I think it’s a smart move but I’d like to take a moment and take a step back to a time when GM was on top, like the 50’s. That was a great era for GM, they were king of the American automotive industry and the authority of design and style. Most importantly, they were flush with cash. GM produced this expensive short “futuristic” musical film called Design for Dreaming for the 1956 GM Motorama to showcase current and concept models. The cars featured are exceptionally stunning and still look great today, except for that firebird II rocket car.
