- Who will win?
It appears that Volvo’s engineers are trying to construct a large 2.08 billion dollar pile of money to buy Volvo from Ford. The bid is backed by Volvo Group chief Leif Johanssen, who most likely shares the engineers concern about Volvo losing its technological edge if it came under Chinese management. It’s been recently reported that Ford was in talks to sell a majority stake in Volvo Cars to China’s Geely Automobile. If the engineer bid is successful, this would be another victory for the iconic brands mother country after recently recapturing the quirky brand Saab from GM. We’ll be rooting for underdog Sweden over big red.
